Minecraft FTB Ultimate Adventure

Welcome back. It has been a while and I have been busy playing various packs in Feed The Beast. On March 4, the FTB Ultimate Pack was released with over 45 mods installed so I decided to reset my world and starting playing with that new modpack. I hope to exercise as many mods over the next few weeks of adventuring.

Lets explain the setup. I have FTB Ultimate 1.01 installed on my machine with additional mods to fill it out:

  • OptiFine D5 – Standard for high res pack and better FPS. Add this to jarmods.
  • Damage Indicators – This mod interested me when Captain Sparklez and iPodMail showed it on their channels. It is a good idea when you meet a new enemy to assess its strength. Also racking your pets health. Added this to jarmods.
  • Mo’Creatures – This is one of my favourite mods to add ambience to the world. It is handy as the creatures tend to drop useful items. I have modified the spawning of Golems as they tend to be more annoying than fun. I had to disable the integratedsoundpacks mod as it prevented the creature sounds. Though the insects can be annoying!! Added Gui-API to jar mods and rest to Mods.
  • Timber! – This is for convenience mainly to cut down trees easier then in vanilla. Add this to Mods.
  • Better Animations – I will eventually add this mod once I figure out how to show horn it into my specification.

The setup works and I am playing on Normal.

My goals for this adventure are as follows:

  • Establish an underground base (I was inspired by the movie Red for this one).
  • Build portals to the nether and Twilight forest.
  • Self sustain with food and energy
  • Others as I think them up

This should be fun…
